Complaint What Happened Today, XX/XX/2021, I received a letter in the mail from Credit Management Control the letter stated a letter origination date of XX/XX/2021, my name and address, the original company owed, and the amount but no other pertinent information regarding this debt. Then the letter says exactly Dear XXXX XXXX, We have received authorization from our client to refer the above referenced account ( s ) to an attorney for legal action. If you wish to avoid the action and the possibility of added expenses, please contact our office to set up an arrangement to pay or pay the above balance in full within 10 days. Please be advised any signed check received by Credit Management Control May be processed as an electronic payment. Sincerely, Credit Management Control , Inc . Nowhere in the letter does it inform me I have the right to dispute this debt, nor does it actually have an attorney retained for the collection of this debt. It is merely a threat to take legal action against me. Also, I live in Minnesota and it only says at the bottom that they are licensed by the division of banking in the Wisconsin department of financial institutions.

Complaint What Happened My credit report reflects a balance of XXXX owed to credit management cntrl. This balance is from a company called XXXX XXXX which I previously rented from. I attempted to dispute this with XXXX XXXX and they would not return my call. It then went to collections. I spoke with XXXX once in XXXX requesting an itemized list of what damages they were claiming. I never received said list and allowed it to go to court so I could dispute the charges there. The initial amount that went to court was in the XXXX dollar range. I apologize I don't have the exact amount in front of me, but even with the court costs it was under XXXX even with the court fees. I was able to get XXXX XXXX to correct the amount owed in court to what I actually owe which is XXXX ; we settled in court and set up a payment plan of XXXX per month beginning on XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted Credit Management Control today at XXXX and spoke with XXXX again. I requested she adjust my credit report to the correct amount. She is refusing to do this. She is intentially leaving the incorrect amount of XXXX on my credit report even though she has received the court documents showing the amount owned is XXXX. ( She read these documents to me over the phone, so she clearly has them. ) I requested to know who to file a complaint with and she initially stated she did not know just that they were governed by the federal government. I asked to speak with her supervisor and she stated her supervisor is the owner and refused to give any contact information for her supervisor. She stated she would give him a message. I asked if I would receive a call back and she stated she really did not know. I told her I would continue to call back daily until I spoke to a supervisor. She laughed and stated she didn't care how many times I called back, she would be certain I am always dealing with her. After continuing to argue with her she finally informed me I could try to file a complaint with CRPB. What are my rights as a consumer. I exercised my right to take this to court, was able to settle the debt for what should have been the initial amount in the beginning, but the credit reporting agency is refusing to correct my account. I am fine if they want to leave the balance on my credit until the debt is paid, but is should most certainly be the correct balance which this XXXX clearly has in front of her. Please advise what I can do to get my credit report corrected.
